This is the best string I've played with. It has terrific control and plenty of power. I play with a Volkl PB10 (295). Tennis Express is a great seller. They are prompt and courteous. I've never had a bad experience with them.

I like it. Competitors complained after I got it about all the spin, but after a while the rough does rub off. I'm only a 3.5 but I keep coming back to it. It can be a little rough on the arm for a while too. Strung reg. instead of 10# lighter as recommended.

The combination of Big Banger Rough 16 in the crosses and natural gut 16 in the mains has provided me performance that is outstanding. Strung at 55lbs. on both sets of string in a 95 head it provides the power needed and the extraordinary control to compete more effectively.
The feel is clean and clear and the wear is longer than one might expect. I strongly suggest that players consider this product combination.

I worked my way through college by working at a tennis store selling and stringing racquets, so Ive tried many of the strings players use today. There is nothing like Luxilon Power ALU when it comes to control and feel. PLUS, it is a very durable string with a good amount of power since it actually pockets the ball on impact. This can be tough on the arm, so either string it at a lower tension or use it as part of a hybrid.

I recently purchased these strings from Tennis Express and I couldn't be happier. I am a 4.0-4.5 baseliner who likes to grind out points and have never been totally happy with other strings due mainly to their breaking too easily and losing their feel and control along the way. So far, the Big Banger family of strings have proved themselves to be as advertised and I would highly recommend them. This string has everything you could ask for. Power, spin, control. These are poly strings, so they are a little tough on the arm, but if you hybrid with NXT or NRG2 there is no pain. I use these strings on my mains at all times.

The Luxilon rough tennis string seemed very stiff at first and was tough on my arm and elbow.
I adjusted the string tension from 62lbs to 54lbs and the strings became very playable, with no arm discomfort.
The Luxilon strings last more than 3 times as long as any other strings I have tried.
I am very happy with the Luxilon rough strings, their duribility and playability.
The Luxilon rough string is the best string I have ever tried in over 30 years of playing tennis and stringing my own racquets.

This string gives me the best control, power, and spin of the strings Ive tried. Its not known for its touch, but I think it does a fine job in that category too. The only drawback, if you can call it that, is that the string loses some of its quality long before its in danger of breaking, so you have to be attuned to how its playing to determine when to get a re-string.

Its a good string. I hit with plenty spin and used to pop strings about every 2 weeks or less. I switched to these and get longer life out of the strings. Probably the best poly string that Ive ever used. The strings tend to bite down on the ball giving it heavier spin. It seems to have a little less power than others, but overall, its nice knowing you can finish a match without having to change rackets.

I play with Head Microgel Radical OS 18x19 racquet.
Previously I used Tecnifibre x-one biphase,16g at 58lbs.
After my first try with this Big Banger ALU at 50 lbs, it felt so hard that I had to cut it off and give it up.
After more research and I decided to give it one more try.
Until I lowered the tension to 40 lbs I finally found that I can use Big Banger ALU it for control and spin.
I also tried 35 lbs, but the string movement is too much to play. So I settled at 40 lbs.
Im staying with Big Banger ALU now, after several times of trial-and-error and struggle.
it takes time to find a good feel between these two extreme types of strings. Give it a try. Dont give up too early.

I have been playing with Big Banger Power Rough for 3-4 years now. Its very stiff so for the sake of my elbow I put it in the crosses and use natural gut in the mains. The feel, power, and spin is AMAZING. And another thing I love about it -- this string does NOT move. So my string job lasts a good 2-3 months before the gut breaks, even though I play 3-4 times a week. I HIGHLY recommend Power Rough!

Ive tried this string several times with several Hybrids and still do not get the feel of M2 Pro or Timo. It does give you additional spin and probably best suited for the baseliner, but for those like myself that like to play the net it lacks in feel. If it does not bother your arm then a full bed would probably be best since it eats through most hybrid crosss in short time. It does feel its best when strung at your racquets lower tension range.

Big Banger ALU Power Rough is one of the two best strings I am using. It has a good balance of power and control. Very spin friendly. Hold string in position very well able to snap back when the tension is still there in the first 10 hours. The only thing Im not satisfied is that the string gets out of position after losing its tension.
I have tried many strings including MSV Focus Hex 110,118,123, Signum Pro TOrnado 1.23, Wilson NXT/Sensation, Tecnifibre X-one biphase...etc. This BB ALU Power Rough is on the top two of my picks. My other top pick is Signum Pro Tornado 1.23 which is just a bit softer than BB ALU Power Rough. Both hold position very well and generate more spins.
My ground stroke is at 4.5 level. Racquet is Head Microgel Radical Oversize 18x19 pattern. Strung Big Banger Power Rough at 40-44 lbs depending on climate temperature.

I Love these strings!
I played with the Regular Big Banger ALU strings 63 lbs.and liked them alot. Then started with the rough strings. My game improved even more. I hit hard with top-spin and have no trouble keeping the ball in the court. During winter-play these strings seem a little dead due to the cold temperatures. I then switch to the Luxilon TIMO strings @ 60 lbs. This is a great product.

I used these as my only strings for about a year. They have moderate power, good feel. Theyre very durable and hold tension well. The texture definitely adds some extra spin over plain polys. Ive never used any of the hexagonal or other shaped strings, like the RPM Blast, so I cant compare to those in terms of spin.
My only real complaint is the price. I tried the Adrenaline Rough and found it to be VERY similar, with a lower price, so Im currently using that in a Hybrid setup with the Adrenaline in the mains and WeissCannon Explosiv in the crosses.
But if youre looking to squeeze some more spin out of your strings, want a good durable string, and dont change your strings that often, this is worth a try.

I would recommend stringing about 5-7 pounds less than other strings, as this will not play well if strung too tight. It also takes a while to get used to the feel of the string, but the rough definately gives you a grip on the ball.

I cant say enough good things about this string. I love the extra spin I get and combine that with a little bit of pop as well and you cant go wrong. I use this for my mains and hybrid it with Babolat natural gut. This is the only string that doesnt chew up the natural gut! It works in harmony. I have tried other ploys but keep coming back to this, I highly recommend it, especially in a hybrid setup. I am using this in a Wilson Pro Staff BLX 90.

I have been using these strings for several years in a hybrid combo in which these are the mains and VS gut are crosses. I am please with the performance of these strings. Only drawback I have found is that I seem to have some control issues in colder weather with these strings, so I have an identical racket with different set of mains that I use for temperatures below 50 degrees.

Have been using these strings for a couple of years now, first on Prince EX03 100 and now Head Youtek Extreme MP racket. Normally string at the higher tensions around 61 lbs, and find the the spin from these strings is very helpful without losing any power and control. I had been warned that due to stiff nature of this string that i would have elbow issues, but can say this hasnt been a problem. Highly recommend.

Im a 4.0 to 4.5 level player and typically play 3x per week. I have used these strings alone usually strung about 10% less than I would a regular poly as they are pretty stiff. This string is very durable and rarely if ever breaks. The rough bites the ball well and generates great spin. Control feels great in first couple weeks after stringing but then they tend to feel flat. I have started to mix this with a synthetic gut hybrid to make the feel last a little longer. This will continue to be my foundation string.

The rough version of this string gives more spin, it seems to grip the ball for more topspin and slice. Once you get used to the feeling of extreme stiffness for the first game or two and the string settle in place, you can spin the ball.

I like this string because it holds its tension well, I dont have to keep adjusting my strings, it is very durable and the power,spin and conrol are are good. I do my own stringing and the only down side is its coil
memory/stiffness makes it take longer. I string 10% lower and I use the Prince Silencer vibration dampener because it goes across most of the string, rather than two and makes a big difference in comfort.

I just wanted to say that if you want a string that is easy on your arm, provides incredible bite for spin and lasts forever, YOU WANT THIS STRING! Luxilon Power Rough is a super poly that outperforms all others! If I had a complaint it would be that you dont want it strung near the top of the tension range. I asked for it at 55, but it came strung at 61, which is just too tight and prevents the string from providing enough pop.

I strung my 5 racquets using tensions of 58,59,60,61,and 62 just to find out the best tension for the string and found out that all worked excellent on all and I am using them on cross. I am using Natural Gut 17G for Mains and ALU Power 125 R 16L for crosses. I am also using Babolat RPM Blast 17G for Mains with the ALU Power 125 Rough 16L for Cross, and it is extremely effective on execution of shots like: Top Spins,

These strings are easily my favorite - even at 18 gauge they have pretty solid longevity - I am a powerful baseline hitter that can use all the bite and control possible. I accidentally bought the 16L big banger rough strings and cut them out the same day as they were very clunky compared to the 18 timos. If you have a big baseline swing and like to feel the ball - these are the ones.

This is the best string I've played with. It has terrific control and plenty of power. I play with a Volkl PB10 (295). Tennis Express is a great seller. They are prompt and courteous. I've never had a bad experience with them.

I like it. Competitors complained after I got it about all the spin, but after a while the rough does rub off. I'm only a 3.5 but I keep coming back to it. It can be a little rough on the arm for a while too. Strung reg. instead of 10# lighter as recommended.

The combination of Big Banger Rough 16 in the crosses and natural gut 16 in the mains has provided me performance that is outstanding. Strung at 55lbs. on both sets of string in a 95 head it provides the power needed and the extraordinary control to compete more effectively.
The feel is clean and clear and the wear is longer than one might expect. I strongly suggest that players consider this product combination.

I worked my way through college by working at a tennis store selling and stringing racquets, so Ive tried many of the strings players use today. There is nothing like Luxilon Power ALU when it comes to control and feel. PLUS, it is a very durable string with a good amount of power since it actually pockets the ball on impact. This can be tough on the arm, so either string it at a lower tension or use it as part of a hybrid.

I recently purchased these strings from Tennis Express and I couldn't be happier. I am a 4.0-4.5 baseliner who likes to grind out points and have never been totally happy with other strings due mainly to their breaking too easily and losing their feel and control along the way. So far, the Big Banger family of strings have proved themselves to be as advertised and I would highly recommend them. This string has everything you could ask for. Power, spin, control. These are poly strings, so they are a little tough on the arm, but if you hybrid with NXT or NRG2 there is no pain. I use these strings on my mains at all times.

The Luxilon rough tennis string seemed very stiff at first and was tough on my arm and elbow.
I adjusted the string tension from 62lbs to 54lbs and the strings became very playable, with no arm discomfort.
The Luxilon strings last more than 3 times as long as any other strings I have tried.
I am very happy with the Luxilon rough strings, their duribility and playability.
The Luxilon rough string is the best string I have ever tried in over 30 years of playing tennis and stringing my own racquets.

This string gives me the best control, power, and spin of the strings Ive tried. Its not known for its touch, but I think it does a fine job in that category too. The only drawback, if you can call it that, is that the string loses some of its quality long before its in danger of breaking, so you have to be attuned to how its playing to determine when to get a re-string.

Its a good string. I hit with plenty spin and used to pop strings about every 2 weeks or less. I switched to these and get longer life out of the strings. Probably the best poly string that Ive ever used. The strings tend to bite down on the ball giving it heavier spin. It seems to have a little less power than others, but overall, its nice knowing you can finish a match without having to change rackets.

I get good bite and good top spin especially for a top spin serve and Im a rather short guy but Im surprised on how high I can kick it sometimes. Great string!

The string gives great grip on the ball for heavy spin hitters. So far seems to be holding tension well so far. Have it strung at 63 and I can still get great feel on the ball. So I think this string is relatively good for all-around players!

I play with Head Microgel Radical OS 18x19 racquet.
Previously I used Tecnifibre x-one biphase,16g at 58lbs.
After my first try with this Big Banger ALU at 50 lbs, it felt so hard that I had to cut it off and give it up.
After more research and I decided to give it one more try.
Until I lowered the tension to 40 lbs I finally found that I can use Big Banger ALU it for control and spin.
I also tried 35 lbs, but the string movement is too much to play. So I settled at 40 lbs.
Im staying with Big Banger ALU now, after several times of trial-and-error and struggle.
it takes time to find a good feel between these two extreme types of strings. Give it a try. Dont give up too early.

I have been playing with Big Banger Power Rough for 3-4 years now. Its very stiff so for the sake of my elbow I put it in the crosses and use natural gut in the mains. The feel, power, and spin is AMAZING. And another thing I love about it -- this string does NOT move. So my string job lasts a good 2-3 months before the gut breaks, even though I play 3-4 times a week. I HIGHLY recommend Power Rough!

Ive tried this string several times with several Hybrids and still do not get the feel of M2 Pro or Timo. It does give you additional spin and probably best suited for the baseliner, but for those like myself that like to play the net it lacks in feel. If it does not bother your arm then a full bed would probably be best since it eats through most hybrid crosss in short time. It does feel its best when strung at your racquets lower tension range.

Big Banger ALU Power Rough is one of the two best strings I am using. It has a good balance of power and control. Very spin friendly. Hold string in position very well able to snap back when the tension is still there in the first 10 hours. The only thing Im not satisfied is that the string gets out of position after losing its tension.
I have tried many strings including MSV Focus Hex 110,118,123, Signum Pro TOrnado 1.23, Wilson NXT/Sensation, Tecnifibre X-one biphase...etc. This BB ALU Power Rough is on the top two of my picks. My other top pick is Signum Pro Tornado 1.23 which is just a bit softer than BB ALU Power Rough. Both hold position very well and generate more spins.
My ground stroke is at 4.5 level. Racquet is Head Microgel Radical Oversize 18x19 pattern. Strung Big Banger Power Rough at 40-44 lbs depending on climate temperature.

I Love these strings!
I played with the Regular Big Banger ALU strings 63 lbs.and liked them alot. Then started with the rough strings. My game improved even more. I hit hard with top-spin and have no trouble keeping the ball in the court. During winter-play these strings seem a little dead due to the cold temperatures. I then switch to the Luxilon TIMO strings @ 60 lbs. This is a great product.

I used these as my only strings for about a year. They have moderate power, good feel. Theyre very durable and hold tension well. The texture definitely adds some extra spin over plain polys. Ive never used any of the hexagonal or other shaped strings, like the RPM Blast, so I cant compare to those in terms of spin.
My only real complaint is the price. I tried the Adrenaline Rough and found it to be VERY similar, with a lower price, so Im currently using that in a Hybrid setup with the Adrenaline in the mains and WeissCannon Explosiv in the crosses.
But if youre looking to squeeze some more spin out of your strings, want a good durable string, and dont change your strings that often, this is worth a try.

I would recommend stringing about 5-7 pounds less than other strings, as this will not play well if strung too tight. It also takes a while to get used to the feel of the string, but the rough definately gives you a grip on the ball.

I cant say enough good things about this string. I love the extra spin I get and combine that with a little bit of pop as well and you cant go wrong. I use this for my mains and hybrid it with Babolat natural gut. This is the only string that doesnt chew up the natural gut! It works in harmony. I have tried other ploys but keep coming back to this, I highly recommend it, especially in a hybrid setup. I am using this in a Wilson Pro Staff BLX 90.

Big Banger Rough used in hybrid combo

I have been using these strings for several years in a hybrid combo in which these are the mains and VS gut are crosses. I am please with the performance of these strings. Only drawback I have found is that I seem to have some control issues in colder weather with these strings, so I have an identical racket with different set of mains that I use for temperatures below 50 degrees.

Have been using these strings for a couple of years now, first on Prince EX03 100 and now Head Youtek Extreme MP racket. Normally string at the higher tensions around 61 lbs, and find the the spin from these strings is very helpful without losing any power and control. I had been warned that due to stiff nature of this string that i would have elbow issues, but can say this hasnt been a problem. Highly recommend.

Paired with a nice gut-Iike Wilson natural gut1--this string allows me to generate tremendous spin. And its not only on low skidding shots: even when my opponent hit a high kicking topspin forehand, I was able to cut his ball down with a smooth backhand slice. Great for heavy slice folks like me.

Im a 4.0 to 4.5 level player and typically play 3x per week. I have used these strings alone usually strung about 10% less than I would a regular poly as they are pretty stiff. This string is very durable and rarely if ever breaks. The rough bites the ball well and generates great spin. Control feels great in first couple weeks after stringing but then they tend to feel flat. I have started to mix this with a synthetic gut hybrid to make the feel last a little longer. This will continue to be my foundation string.

The rough version of this string gives more spin, it seems to grip the ball for more topspin and slice. Once you get used to the feeling of extreme stiffness for the first game or two and the string settle in place, you can spin the ball.

I like this string because it holds its tension well, I dont have to keep adjusting my strings, it is very durable and the power,spin and conrol are are good. I do my own stringing and the only down side is its coil
memory/stiffness makes it take longer. I string 10% lower and I use the Prince Silencer vibration dampener because it goes across most of the string, rather than two and makes a big difference in comfort.

The string was decent in many ways. It put generous topspin and was not too hard on the arm. Also, it had suprisngly good durability for a textured string. I just wanted to say that if you want a string that is easy on your arm, provides incredible bite for spin and lasts forever, YOU WANT THIS STRING! Luxilon Power Rough is a super poly that outperforms all others! If I had a complaint it would be that you dont want it strung near the top of the tension range. I asked for it at 55, but it came strung at 61, which is just too tight and prevents the string from providing enough pop.

This racquet string provided all that I needed. Excellent playability. Excellent control, Excellent power, Very comfortable-without any shoulder or arm pains, excellent spins and excellent durability. Surely will buy more.
I strung my 5 racquets using tensions of 58,59,60,61,and 62 just to find out the best tension for the string and found out that all worked excellent on all and I am using them on cross. I am using Natural Gut 17G for Mains and ALU Power 125 R 16L for crosses. I am also using Babolat RPM Blast 17G for Mains with the ALU Power 125 Rough 16L for Cross, and it is extremely effective on execution of shots like: Top Spins,
Slices, Top Spin serves, Over head, Volleys, Ground strokes, and Drop shots. Increases my game winning strategies, keeping the ball in-side, deep, and excellent speed when attacking near the net or from the baseline. Excellent and quality String

These strings are easily my favorite - even at 18 gauge they have pretty solid longevity - I am a powerful baseline hitter that can use all the bite and control possible. I accidentally bought the 16L big banger rough strings and cut them out the same day as they were very clunky compared to the 18 timos. If you have a big baseline swing and like to feel the ball - these are the ones.

I love the string. I have a Wilson 100S racquet which eats strings and I keep a chart on the play time on each string that I use. I play about 10 times a week, swing hard with lots of topspin and right now with this set I have 50.1 hrs of use, which is very good for me.
