Description
Luxilon Big Banger Original 16 continues to be one of the most popular strings on the ATP Tour. Providing less power and more durability than ALU Power, the stiffer feel is preferred by pure power baseliners. One of the first co-polyester strings to be constructed, Big Banger Original 16 provides better feel and tension maintenance comapred to first generation polyester strings. The low power level of this string makes it an ideal choice for baseliners who take full cuts at the ball and rely on generating spin to control the depth of their shots. Best suited to advanced level players seeking a durable, control string with decent feel and power.

Good for Hybrid stringing

When combined with a good synthetic gut I use Wilson NXT Tour 16 it provides better feel, power, control and definitely more spin than when strung with all synthetic gut.

Big Banger Original string

I switched from RPM to Big Banger Original 16. The string holds its tension longer and produces good spin and power. If you have tried ALU Power and found your balls travel long, then switch to Original. I am able to have full swings with good power and great spin. The spin is just as good as RPM with an increase in power. I was looking for a solid string at a better price that RPM and this one delivers. I have been playing almost daily with this string without any breaks. I am a baseliner who hits hard with lots of spin. I play junior level tournaments monthly.

I have been using Luxilon Big Banger Original 16 for more than three years now, and I am advanced play. I am happy using this string. String provides good feeling with enough control. One thing to improve on this string is providing more power.

This string is amazing. I play primarily from the baseline. I am a 4.5 level player. I string it low at 52 pounds which softens the string and provides more pop. The string has excellent bite, holds tension well and allows a baseliner to take big cuts at the ball without worrying about keeping it in play. Overall highly recommended.

This string is as described at tennis express. Its been around a long time for good reason. For a player that wants a firm feeling string with predictable results this is a great one. Youll have to generate more of your own power, but if you normally hit long or without enough control, this could solve it. I only use it as a hybrid with natural gut crosses, or it would be too hard for me. I put this in the mains of some of todays best racquets at a lower tension of about 50 for a 98 sq. in. model such as the Head Radical IG, or at 53 lb. for a 100 sq. in. model. I use BB ORIGINAL ROUGH 130 if I am putting it in the crosses for more grip. My favorite main string, however is Luxilon Big Banger Alu 125 17 gauge silver for more offense.

Get a BANG for your Buck

Not having a stringing machine, I wanted something that would last. What I wound up with is the following: Outstanding Durability, Power, Control, Spin and Tension Stability. My racquet feels great with no elbow issues, has lots of pop and, heres the bonus: NO STRING MOVEMENT. I would definitely buy Big Banger Original again.

Excellent String

I have a Volkl PB V1 Mid strung at 55 lbs, and this string gives nice pop, good control, and is wearing very well. If you want a poly, Id say give this a try.

This is one of the most durable string that my kid ever used.
Three week with average play of 3 hrr per day- 5 days a week.
It is a good string for training but does not bite the ball well. The optimun tension is 58 on 95 square inches 12 OZ racquet.
