MSV Focus Hex 1.18 is an incredibly popular choice among players seeking the ultimate spin and control from a poly-based string. It`s hexagonal form allows players to generate the kind of spin you could only dream of! This poly-based string offers solid tension maintenance and long lasting performance. In addition to spin and its ability to hold playability, this string is also extremely comfortable. German lab tests have shown it to be superior to leading brands in the categories of elongation and elasticity. This leads to added comfort, power and all-around solid performance. This thinner gauge poly will have enhanced feel, but a little less durability than the 16G or 16L versions.
Composition: Co-Polyester Monofilament With Hexagonal Profile
Gauge: 17L (1.18 mm)
Length: 660' (200 m)

Great strings for the money
The MSV Focus Hex 1.18 are comfortable and provide great access to spin. Good performence per price ratio strings.
It was String of the Year 2004 according to stringforum.net, but it is softer than cyber flash 17 L and signum pro plasma 17L. I do not feel more spin as compared to said polys. It is difficult to see the hex cross section. I put it on my wilson sledge hammer 3.8 power holes stretched at 55lb. The nylon 16 has more spin than this MVS.
This is a good product. It is strong, durable and soft when the ball hits the racquet. Other strings would break so often and this string holds up pretty well.
Great strings for the price
Ive experimented with various poly strings, and these strings out perform all of them, with the exception of Luxilon BB ALU Rough, but its overall lifespan is much longer. Unlike most polys these are very soft and comfortable. Good power and spin, but the main selling point for these strings is that they stay consistent for longer than most polys. Although Luxilon performs better its lifespan is about 7-10 hrs of play, which is not even half of what MSV Focus Hex has to offer. A must demo for all high level tennis players out there.
This string ranks belongs in the top ranks of all polys. For such an affordable price, you definitely get the most bang for your buck. Soft, durable, and spin-friendly, this string has it all. However, do not hybrid it with a multifilament. I made the mistake of doing so. It sawed through the multi in about 5 hours. Im currently hybriding it with gosen og sheep and with this combination, Ive been playing my best tennis ever. You will not regret buying this string.
I have been using MSV hex for about 2 years. I restring rackets for the club. Its one the most popular strings. They preform really well they last a long time. Generate a lot of top spin.
MSV Focus Hex 118 Reel Tennis String
I string my racket, Babolat Pure Drive, with 58 lbs. By using these strings I generate a lot of top spin, power, and control. I think that these are not the best strings in the market, but I think that these are the best strings that you can buy for under twenty dollars. The LUXILON Big Banger ALU Power 16L String used to be my favorite, but after using MSV Focus Hex 118 Tennis String it has become my new favorite and you pay only one-third of the price if you buy the whole reel. Overall, I am satisfied with this product and I would repurchase these strings.
This is a great string so I bought a roll of it. I use it in my racquets and all my players.
MSV FOCUS HEX 118
I string tennis racquets as a side job.I looked at various strings and decided buying MSV Focus Hex 118 string.I strung my Head Prestige IG MP at 50lbs and I can put spin and slice with ease. The depth on the shots are noticeably consistent and I also felt how easy this string is on my arm.My tennis buddies started to try this string on their racquets and so far never heard any complaint yet.As for holding tension,I have played for 12 hours and still holding up.I can say that this string is better than GENESIS Black Magic which I used before.
I have been using this sting for 4 years with Head Radical MD57 lbs. Good string for spin and control with saving money. It holds tension very well.
This string is great at any price. I personally use it and many people I string for use it. It is great in the mains with PSGwD 17g in the crosses. It is even great as a full bed.
I have a set of the 1.10mm version of these strings and wanted something a little more durable, specifically for the mains. Obviously the feel is the same... great tension maintenance, spin and above average feel for a poly. Like the title says, not too many people know about this string, but it plays great and is an unbelievable value.
I am a 3.5 player with a pretty good topspin game. I have tried numerous strings but usually find myself coming back to the MSV products. I have tried MSV Red Cove, Black Code and now MSV Hex Focus... I always string in a hybrid with the MSV as the main and cross with various polys and multi-fillimants I do my own stringing and have started experimenting with various strings for the crosses but have remained very pleased with MSV Focus Hex 18Gage. Current I have gradually reduced tension from 58 lbs down to 47 pounds and am having great success with my forehand and backhand. Plenty of topspin... I feel I have added 10-15 miles per hour speed to FH and serve... I like the combination of MSV and Solenco Tour bite the best.... The softness of the MSV and the lack of tension loss is phenomenal especially for someone who had a 50% tear of the tendon in my elbow 3 years ago. This combination is very controllable and arm friendly.
