Nicole Gibbs (born March 3, 1993) is an American player from Cincinnati that was introduced to tennis by her father, Paul. She started by hitting tennis balls in her driveway over two trash cans with a board across the top when she was 3 years old. She went to Stanford University to play collegiate tennis, and won the 2012 NCAA Women's Singles and Doubles titles as a sophomore. She turned pro in 2013 after winning prize money at Wimbledon, and in 2016 cracked into the top 100 WTA rankings. In 2019 she was diagnosed with rare cancer (Salivary Gland Cancer) that pushed her away from tennis. Gibbs grew up admiring the Williams sisters and her favorite surface is hard courts. She describes herself as feisty with a love for surfing. Her favorite tournaments are Stanford and the US Open. On Halloween 2019, she married long-time boyfriend Jack Brody.
