Nicole Vaidisova is a retired Czech tennis player who began playing tennis at age 6, and trained at the Nick Bollettieri Academy in Florida. She was know for her powerful serve, and her all-court game. In 2006 at 17 years old, she became the 12th-youngest player in WTA Tour history to be ranked in the top-10 reaching the semifinals of the French Open. In 2007 she achieved a career-high ranking of world No. 7 after reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open and quarterfinals of Wimbledon. In 2010 she retired from the tour losing interest in playing, but later decided to comeback in 2014 to play. After a hard fought battle on the Challenger circuit and low level WTA tournaments, she decided to permanently retire in 2016. In 2018 she remarried ATP Pro Radek Štepánek and gave birth to a daughter named Stella. She enjoys following the NHL, listening to Madonna, doing yoga, and reading in her spare time. She speaks Czech, German, and English, and is studying French.
