LOVE to play with this racquet as it is so very easy to handle; can generate more power and even volley with it.
Bought a Babolat DriveZ 2 years ago for a lot of money but never really felt comfy with it.
Have played with many different racquets but this one is my favorite. Also the cheapest of all the racquets I ever had.

This is a very good racquet for me, and one that I suggest, (and bought) for my wife and a tennis student. The large head is more forgiving, and without a full swing, you still have plenty of power. Being a light racquet; elbow, shoulder, and wrist remain in good shape. At 61 these are concerns.

I love my new racquet. I have played with a Hyper Hammer 6.3 for the last several years but it cracked so had to find a new one. I bought two of the Hyper Hammer 5.3s and just used one for the first time last night for a state league doubles match. I was nervous, not knowing how it would work for me, but we won 6-0, 6-0!! I think this racquet is going to be a great fit for me. It feels as natural as my last one so far.

I have recently taken up tennis. To start out I borrowed my friends Hyper Hammer 6. After playing for a short I fell in love with the game, and started looking for a racquet of my own. I tried a few racquets from other people, and didnt get the results and feel I got from the Hyper Hammer. Then it hit me, this is a no brainer. So I bought the Hyper Hammer 5.3, and Its more playable than the 6. This racquet feels solid when you hit the ball, and the large 110 size makes it very forgiving. I would recomment it to anyone.

I am a 60 year old tennis player and have used Wilson Hammer 6.2 110 and Hammer H6 oversize both of which suits my style of play which is from the baseline. The H6 is a control oriented type of racquet when strung with the right stringNXT and appropriate tension. I thought this racquet would be the one I will be playing with while I am still able to play tennis until I tried my friends Hyper Hammer 5.3 oversize. I found out that this racquet has the same characteristic like the Hammer H6 but is more powerful and very light. This racquet added some power to my service as well as to my ground stroke specially my two handed backhand. Volleys at the net are crisp and precise with little effort to expend. I would highly recommend this racquet to players suffering from tennis elbow and arthritis on the wrist like I do. The weight of this racquet will tremendously help your game because of its maneuverability due to its lightness. I wish Wilson would manufacture a replacement for this.

This is my second Wison hyper hammer 5.3 I purchased, as I liked my first one so much. Great blend of lightness and power, my favorite racquet, so far. I also bought one for my high school daughter. The only problem, which I noted on both mine and my daughters racquets, was an undesirable vibration when hitting off-center shots, even with the vibration damper in place. This problem was probably due to the factory strings, as it went away when I got both racquets restrung.

I have been playing tennis for nearly 28 years. I believe I have been playing with the Wilson 5.3 Hyper Hammer for over half of those years. I started using it as a 3.0 and now a 4.0 I love it just as much. Part of me wants a racquet with newer technology but I keep coming back to the Hyper Hammer.
It is light weight and yet even though I am not a power hitter, I am able to have good pace on my strokes. I have read that this is the most popular racquet Wilson has ever made. Try it just one time and youll understand why.

Ive always used the Hyper Hammer 2.0 and they no longer make it. Aver reading the description of Hyper Hammer 5.3 I thought I would give it a try. I couldnt be happier with this racquet, actually prefer it over the 2.0 now. Already pruchased my second one. It really allows me to place the ball anywhere on the court and allows me to put spin on it which makes up for most of my game.

I am an older player 76, and finally had to give up using the pro type, smaller head racquets I used to use.
This 5.3 at 110 inches does not LOOK too big like too much of a cheater - so I feel better about myself.
I strung it at the lowest poundage, with a 17 guage Techni-Fibre string, and I am hitting with satisfactory power, and very little sacrifice in control.
In other words, I am as satisfied as the 50 people whose reviews I read - that provoked me to try this racquet.

Overall its a great racquet, its light but powerful, the oversized head seems to have enough control over the net too. The only problem I noticed is the string, I like to add a lot of top spin on each shot, but the strings are not tight enough to stay where they are supposed to be. I started to use my fingers to put the strings back in shape after only one week of playing. However, I would still recommend the racquet to new players who try to improve their games, or experienced players who would like a racquet as a back-up.

Love this racquet. I played with the old Hammer 6.2 Skunk for years and years. After some shoulder problems I had to find a light racquet that still had plenty of pop. I demoed this racquet early on and was thrilled with it, but I couldnt believe the price, so I demoed several more in the $150+ range, before finally coming back to the Hyper Hammer and have been happy ever since. I can easily play 6 sets with my weekly group and not have any shoulder problems. Love this Racquet!!

After playing with the Wilson Hyper Hammer 5.3 I have been able to control the ball location on the court. Even though most racquets have a win-lose equilibrium between power and control the Hyper Hammer allows me to use an equal amount of power and control. My game is directed as being an offensive baseline player, but I can also approach the net with this Hyper Hammer which allows me to use more touch and speed on my approaches.

I have been playing tennis for 47 years and the Hyper Hammer is by far the best racquet that I have ever owned. With the oversized head I find I have more control and make less unforced errors. The overall lightness of the Hammer results in a quicker swing with more power to both forehand and backhand. Its a great racquet that I can highly recommend.

Purchased this racquet online, was impressed with the power but disappointed with the control. It has amazing power for a racquet so light but its very tough to control the ball. I also found that it vibrates a lot and needs a good dampener. Overall I would recommend it for those who have very control and are in search of more power.

Ive been playing most of my life and finally with the help of this racquet am swinging freely and hitting harder than I ever have. As a former ranked player who played junior dbls with Billie Jean King, I love the lightness of this racquet. My husband, who is a former UCLA all-American, and I changed our old strokes a few years back and now hit with loose wrists and topspin. We still teach and play 2-4 hrs most days. Ive played for many years with the Hyper Hammer 4.3 and since they are only available used, I gave the Hyper Hammer 5.3 a try. It plays similar to the 4.3 with a little more power and the racquet is lighter weight.
If you read the attributes of the 5.3, it suits my game perfectly. I am 70 years old and no longer hit real hard. However, I have great control with the 5.3 and it has enough power to win points.
The racquet I received was strung with 16 gauge string. I will probably restring it with 17 or 18 gauge which gives me more control. I play in senior leagues and many of my opponents play with the 5.3 or the 4.3, so it is very popular and affordable.

I was using a heavier racket that was causing some shoulder pain. So i bought this one, looking for a lighter racket. The first thing i noticed is how light it is. I gave up my wilson hyper hammer 3.6 with rollers. I find that this racket is pretty similar, a bit smaller head from my old 115 mm but I am managing. Im an average 3.5 60+ player but dont find any aggravation of my tennis elbow and still have my great backhand. It came nicely strung in my tension range. So far so good! Maybe Tennis Express can find some faster feet!

I want to express my appreciation for the service provided by Tennis Express. I bought a Wilson Hyper Hammer 5.3 110 based on using a friends Hyper Hammer 5.3. I needed a larger grip size than this racquet came in so Tennis Express enlarged the grip one size at a very reasonable cost and on a same day service basis. The agents at Tennis Express were knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely use Tennis Express for my tennis needs in the future.
The only reason I did not give the product performance five stars is that I would have liked the racquet strings to be a little less tightly strung - similar to the racquet I borrowed from my friend. I will either wait it out until they have stretched a bit or get the racquet restrung. This is no reflection on Tennis Express.

I took the strings out of one racket so far and had it strung up at 58 tension but it feel terrific the grip are a little too small I remember back in the days when grip were 4 5/8 the 4 1/2 feels a little small but that is the only thing i think needs adjusting .

I definitely found it easy to manipulate and was able to hit a variety of shots comfortably. I think the pre-strung aspect probably isnt the best for me. The tension and string type definitely seem different from what Im used to. Im curious to see how it handles once I restring it with my usual string and tension.

LOVE to play with this racquet as it is so very easy to handle; can generate more power and even volley with it.
Bought a Babolat DriveZ 2 years ago for a lot of money but never really felt comfy with it.

This is a very good racquet for me, and one that I suggest, (and bought) for my wife and a tennis student. The large head is more forgiving, and without a full swing, you still have plenty of power. Being a light racquet; elbow, shoulder, and wrist remain in good shape. At 61 these are concerns.

I love my new racquet. I have played with a Hyper Hammer 6.3 for the last several years but it cracked so had to find a new one. I bought two of the Hyper Hammer 5.3s and just used one for the first time last night for a state league doubles match. I was nervous, not knowing how it would work for me, but we won 6-0, 6-0!! I think this racquet is going to be a great fit for me. It feels as natural as my last one so far.

I have recently taken up tennis. To start out I borrowed my friends Hyper Hammer 6. After playing for a short I fell in love with the game, and started looking for a racquet of my own. I tried a few racquets from other people, and didnt get the results and feel I got from the Hyper Hammer. Then it hit me, this is a no brainer. So I bought the Hyper Hammer 5.3, and Its more playable than the 6. This racquet feels solid when you hit the ball, and the large 110 size makes it very forgiving. I would recomment it to anyone.

I am a 60 year old tennis player and have used Wilson Hammer 6.2 110 and Hammer H6 oversize both of which suits my style of play which is from the baseline. The H6 is a control oriented type of racquet when strung with the right stringNXT and appropriate tension. I thought this racquet would be the one I will be playing with while I am still able to play tennis until I tried my friends Hyper Hammer 5.3 oversize. I found out that this racquet has the same characteristic like the Hammer H6 but is more powerful and very light. This racquet added some power to my service as well as to my ground stroke specially my two handed backhand. Volleys at the net are crisp and precise with little effort to expend. I would highly recommend this racquet to players suffering from tennis elbow and arthritis on the wrist like I do. The weight of this racquet will tremendously help your game because of its maneuverability due to its lightness. I wish Wilson would manufacture a replacement for this.

This is my second Wison hyper hammer 5.3 I purchased, as I liked my first one so much. Great blend of lightness and power, my favorite racquet, so far. I also bought one for my high school daughter. The only problem, which I noted on both mine and my daughters racquets, was an undesirable vibration when hitting off-center shots, even with the vibration damper in place. This problem was probably due to the factory strings, as it went away when I got both racquets restrung.

I have been playing tennis for nearly 28 years. I believe I have been playing with the Wilson 5.3 Hyper Hammer for over half of those years. I started using it as a 3.0 and now a 4.0 I love it just as much. Part of me wants a racquet with newer technology but I keep coming back to the Hyper Hammer.

Ive always used the Hyper Hammer 2.0 and they no longer make it. Aver reading the description of Hyper Hammer 5.3 I thought I would give it a try. I couldnt be happier with this racquet, actually prefer it over the 2.0 now. Already pruchased my second one. I am an older player 76, and finally had to give up using the pro type, smaller head racquets I used to use.
This 5.3 at 110 inches does not LOOK too big like too much of a cheater - so I feel better about myself.
I strung it at the lowest poundage, with a 17 guage Techni-Fibre string, and I am hitting with satisfactory power, and very little sacrifice in control.
In other words, I am as satisfied as the 50 people whose reviews I read - that provoked me to try this racquet.

Overall its a great racquet, its light but powerful, the oversized head seems to have enough control over the net too. The only problem I noticed is the string, I like to add a lot of top spin on each shot, but the strings are not tight enough to stay where they are supposed to be. I started to use my fingers to put the strings back in shape after only one week of playing. However, I would still recommend the racquet to new players who try to improve their games, or experienced players who would like a racquet as a back-up.

Love this racquet. I played with the old Hammer 6.2 Skunk for years and years. After some shoulder problems I had to find a light racquet that still had plenty of pop. I demoed this racquet early on and was thrilled with it, but I couldnt believe the price, so I demoed several more in the $150+ range, before finally coming back to the Hyper Hammer and have been happy ever since. I can easily play 6 sets with my weekly group and not have any shoulder problems. Love this Racquet!!

After playing with the Wilson Hyper Hammer 5.3 I have been able to control the ball location on the court. Even though most racquets have a win-lose equilibrium between power and control the Hyper Hammer allows me to use an equal amount of power and control. My game is directed as being an offensive baseline player, but I can also approach the net with this Hyper Hammer which allows me to use more touch and speed on my approaches.

I have been playing tennis for 47 years and the Hyper Hammer is by far the best racquet that I have ever owned. With the oversized head I find I have more control and make less unforced errors. Ive been playing most of my life and finally with the help of this racquet am swinging freely and hitting harder than I ever have. As a former ranked player who played junior dbls with Billie Jean King, I love the lightness of this racquet. Ive played for many years with the Hyper Hammer 4.3 and since they are only available used, I gave the Hyper Hammer 5.3 a try. It plays similar to the 4.3 with a little more power and the racquet is lighter weight.
If you read the attributes of the 5.3, it suits my game perfectly. I am 70 years old and no longer hit real hard. However, I have great control with the 5.3 and it has enough power to win points.
The racquet I received was strung with 16 gauge string. I will probably restring it with 17 or 18 gauge which gives me more control. I play in senior leagues and many of my opponents play with the 5.3 or the 4.3, so it is very popular and affordable.

I have owned this racket for about a year or so and have no regrets. I love the head size and the weight. Strung at 58# gives awesome control and power. I own several rackets but this is by far my favorite.

My 70 year old husband has played tennis all his life, from High school on. Wilson rackets discontinued his favorite model and he was sure his game was ruined. Thanks to TEs tennis Tech guys who suggested alternative racket, he now is a happy player again, for the next years!

I gave up my wilson hyper hammer 3.6 with rollers. I find that this racket is pretty similar, a bit smaller head from my old 115 mm but I am managing. Im an average 3.5 60+ player but dont find any aggravation of my tennis elbow and still have my great backhand. It came nicely strung in my tension range. So far so good! Maybe Tennis Express can find some faster feet!

I want to express my appreciation for the service provided by Tennis Express. I bought a Wilson Hyper Hammer 5.3 110 based on using a friends Hyper Hammer 5.3. I needed a larger grip size than this racquet came in so Tennis Express enlarged the grip one size at a very reasonable cost and on a same day service basis. The agents at Tennis Express were knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely use Tennis Express for my tennis needs in the future.
The only reason I did not give the product performance five stars is that I would have liked the racquet strings to be a little less tightly strung - similar to the racquet I borrowed from my friend. I will either wait it out until they have stretched a bit or get the racquet restrung. This is no reflection on Tennis Express.

I took the strings out of one racket so far and had it strung up at 58 tension but it feel terrific the grip are a little too small I remember back in the days when grip were 4 5/8 the 4 1/2 feels a little small but that is the only thing i think needs adjusting .

I definitely enjoyed using this new racquet although it was an adjustment for me to use something so lightweight. I may need to add some weight to it, ultimately. I definitely found it easy to manipulate and was able to hit a variety of shots comfortably. I think the pre-strung aspect probably isnt the best for me. The tension and string type definitely seem different from what Im used to. Im curious to see how it handles once I restring it with my usual string and tension.

I really like the light weight yet the power it gives you as you swing. Well balanced and gives me solid hit each time. I paid around $80. You cant beat the price and performance! I like it and would highly recommend up to 3.5 player!

I had my first Hammer 3.2 for 15 years and hated when it finally died!! But my new Hammer 5.3 is working out great. I have been making shots that I couldnt make with my old Hammer. I really like the new Hyper Hammer 5.3, hope to keep it a long time.
