Head Ti.S6 Prestrung Racquets

  • Description

Description

A straight beam coupled with a head heavy widebody, this ultra-light titanium model has more power than the Ti S5 and more control than the now discontinued Ti.S7.

With its excellent torsional stability, the S6 will perform best in the hands of players with compact to medium stroke styles seeking a larger sweetspot that combines a nice balance of power and an open string pattern producing an ideal for topspin and slice players with an all court game. The S6 comes fully equipped with Head`s Titanium technology, which provides much needed stability and comfort for the player. This composite weave allows the racquet to be very lightweight to reduce stress on the player`s arms while keeping its solid feel. This, in turn, enables significantly better frame maneuverability. Overall, a great choice for players looking for a lightweight and solid frame.

This racquet comes pre-strung with Head Synthetic Gut 16g (Natural) at 62lbs. It does not come with a cover.

For more information please see the Tennis Express Buyer's Guide.

I am so glad that this racquet keeps being available. A large portion of my USTA players have used this for a number of years with great success. It was easy to purchase, priced right and I seem to have a little more zing in my play with it.

This is a very good racket ... if you don't hit the ball too hard. Because of the shape of the frame, the strings get broken very quickly if the ball is not centered when you hit. The string got broken twice, after 2 matches, so I'll unfortunately have to change rackets!

Easy racquet to use. Plenty of power and spin. This is one of the more popular racquets for intermediate men's tennis at our indoor tennis club. My favorite strings are a good multi at the upper end (64-66lbs) or Tecnifibre Black Code 17 ga at 62 #

This is the only racket I will use for its light weight , which allows me to get around the ball quicker for placement and power. This racket hits with more power than players with heavier rackets can believe. When other players ask me if they can try my rackets I always oblige, and most are impressed. I am able to hit with top-spin, slice, and flat shots to the back of the baseline, therefore pinning my opponent to the baseline, and with the sweet spot and control I'm able to control my matches. It is also a great racket to serve with, giving the server a quicker swing and follow thru for better placement of the serve. I am a 4.0 and ready to play anyone with another racket of their choice. It is not the cost of this racket, this racket is just plain good. I'll never use another racket.

I got a couple of these for my kids, who are beginners. The light weight frame is great for their little bodies, and the confidence they have gained from the hits that result from this thing is wonderful to see. As an experienced player who prefers quite a bit of weight and more control, this is NOT the racquet for me, but for those looking for a lightweight bazooka, this thing kills.

What I needed
5/5
As a person with a unorthodoxed compact swing, I was unable to get enough power from other rackets I was using. The Head Ti6 was exactly what I needed. Power and control for a moderate price. I absolutely love this racket and I wish that I had bought one a long time ago. Im sure that I would have more Ws in my win column.

I want her using this raquet
5/5
I bought this racquet for myself about 6 months ago. It gave me much more power in my ground strokes and I was surprised at the amount of control I had with my drop shops as well as back hand spins. One day, my daughter, who is 10 years old and plays in USTA tournaments, asked to use it. After her tennis coach saw her swing with it, he immediatly noticed she had much more power. His response was I want her using this racquet. I ended up buying one of her own with a smaller grip and she loves it.

During a league match a string broke on my old racquet. I borrowed my partners Ti. S6 Head. I thought things would go from bad to worse. Any previous use of another raquet spells trouble - each borrowed racquet seemed so tempermental making consistent hits nearly impossible. To my surprise playing with this Ti. S6 Head was like driving a fine car! Once the match was over, I ordered the racquet from Tennis Express and was here the next day. Wonderful racquet! Thank you.

Love my new racquet. My coach has one and let me try it during our coaching lesson. I fell in love with the lightweight and control. I usually play about twice a week and I think my previous racquet was too heavy and contributed to my tennis elbow. I have no problems with my elbow when using this lightweight racquet. I couldnt believe I received the racquet in 3 days after my order, that was wonderful. Your customer service is great.

The Ti.S6 Does Not Disappoint
5/5
Im a 3.0 57 year old player. My first impression is that this racquet has a very light feel and is very easy to handle. I had been playing with Head Ti.S1 Tornado a similar Head titanium racquet and the Ti.S6 has much more power. I noticed the power on serves and if youre on the run and need to just block the ball back with a short swing positive but when Im in good position where I can take a full swing Im tending to hit a little long right now a little negative but I think Ill adjust. I play 5 days per week and have occasionally had some wrist pain but I think this racquet will be much easier on the joints. I am very satisfied with this racquet.

easy on my arm
5/5
Im now in my 60s and things start to hurt. Because of wrist pain, I decided to try the lightest light racquet they sell. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had as much control of the ball as with my Babolat Overdrive 105 about 2 oz. difference and my wrist likes it too. Im sorry I didnt use this Titanium wonder years ago. The balance of head heavy 8 points is absolutely necessary with such a light racquet and it seems to need to be strung at 62 lb. the pre-strung tension. Id suggest this racquet any intermediate player and particularly for any one having wrist or arm problems.

Quality Racquet with a Good Price
5/5
My husband bought this racquet and he gave it to me due to its lightness. The moment I used it two years ago, I know I would love it. Since then, I have never changed to another one. I just bought an exact one for backup. I used to have tennis elbow when using a heavier one. Since I switched to Ti.S6, my tennis elbow is gone. My arm is not tired after two hours of play. My serve is great also as it allows me to pronate easier with the lightness of the racquet. I have seen many seasoned players using Ti.S6 also. One recommendation is to change the string though. It makes a difference.

I bought the Ti.s6 for my daughter. She is now 8 years old. She started lesson at 4 years old. My wife and I were beginning to question if tennis was for her because of 4 years of tennis lessons we figure she should be a lot better. Her coach suggested the Ti.s6 but said it would probably be hard to find. I purchased the Ti.s6 last month and my daughter's skill level hit the roof. She is now able to rally with most highschool girl tennis players. I suggest if your child dont seem to be improving, get rid of the pinto and get the lexus.

On a recent trip to San Francisco I did not travel without my tennis racket. I never used to leave home without a tennis racket so this was the first time. I used to live in San Francisco area and went to my old tennis club and one of my former partner loaned gave me his racket Ti.S6 to play with. Awesome since we beat a very good 4.0 plus team in doubles and I am only a 3.5 player! On return from San Francisco, I straight went from the Houston Airport to Tennis Express and bought a new Ti.S6 which was on sale at very reasonable price. That evening, I could not wait to get back on the tennis court and ever since I got this new awesome racket, I have been playing every day with most days coming out a winner on the court. The racket has controlled power and somehow or other more balls stay in the court. I just love my new racket.

I am a beginner tennis player. This is an excellent first racket. It has a great feel. Because of its light weight, I have no arm fatigue after long practices like I did with the old racket I was first using. The generous sweet spot means more of my hits are right on. I played with a Head Intelligence I S6 for many years and when I ordered the Ti S6, I expected a similarly playing racquet. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Although the racquet is light, the slightly heavier head gives different feel both in serving and volleying at the net. Slice returns feel good and are easy to control, but applying top spin in both forehand and backhand strokes requires more effort than I experienced with the I S6 and so far has resulted in more errors. It may be that the racquet will perform better with a 17 gage string, of a better quality than that which comes from the factory.

Love my Head
5/5
Like most of us, I started off using a Wilson Chris Evert woodie. Then I discovered Head racquets. So I have been using the since, well longer than probably Tennis Express has been in business. I used to play with a blue one, progressed to a red Head and finally settled on the IS6. Well it finally broke after 15+ years of use and I searched around for something comparable. They did not make mine anymore. Tried several different brands which did not suit my game when someone mentioned the TIS6 to me. My local tennis shop did not have it in stock as it is also an older model, so I bought it online. Well, I love it!!! Love my Head and wont use anything else.

Outstanding Classic Racket
5/5
Since I took up tennis at 60, I have had three Head Rackets. The first was the Liquid Metal which was fine. Light weight, swung nicely. After five years the frame started to crack, not from abuse but maybe a restringing error. The next was the Radical Pro which felt heavier, but who knows now I could hit harder. Final I tried a friends TiS6 which I understand is an older classic design. I LOVE IT. It doesnt feel heavy. It swings fast. It feels solid. It improved my game. Its fun to play with and thats what its all about when you are happy to be able to get on court and play!!!

Relatively good ending to a cracked racquet
4/5
These are the 3rd and 4th Head Ti.S6 tennis racquets that I have bought from Tennis Express in July 2013. I purchased the first two Ti.S6 racquets in December 2012 and have really enjoyed playing with them, as they are very light while providing reasonable power due to its larger head sizes. However, after having played with the first two racquets interchangeably for 7 months, one of the racquets frames cracked during a rally. That was the reason for my buying racquets #3 and #4, not knowing if I would be able to have the broken racquet replaced under warranty. I received racquets #3 and #4 from Tennis Express within a week of order, which is very good and reliable service. I spoke with Head USA Customer Service about the cracked racquet and was told to return it for warranty evaluation if I would like, but that there was no guarantee for warranty replacement and that I would have to pay for shipping myself. I decided to go ahead and ship the broken back to Head USA, and fortunately He

I had been playing with a racket I paid $15 for hat a yard sale with, but had restrung to introduce myself to tennis. I have now been playing 3 years and wanted to take a step up and couldnt afford anything really expensive. It was suggested I go with a head heavy, larger head racket, so I decided to try this one. I love this racket and I think I am playing better than I was, as I am getting comments about how well I am playing. I had the tension checked, as someone said the prestrung rackets can be loose but mine came up with a 60 tension. Tennis express are fast with their shipments and I have dealt with them now on a few occasions, when I am in USA, as I am Canadian, I will certainly deal with them again.

Although I havent played enough with this racquet to sense its real potential or limitations, some characteristics are very promising. I bought the 28 model, which gives a bit more reach and better serving angle. The stick is extremely light, extremely flexible and even with Tennis Express standard strings, has fantastic spin capability, especially with slices and drop shots. There is great latent power in the racquet, if you hit the sweet spot well, which I have yet to master. Having tried demos of the $200 top racquets, it is hard for me to believe the extra cost justifies the potential level of improvement. Maybe not the greatest stick ever, but dollar for dollar, Im a happy old guy.

Racket grip was larger than specified. The performance while accurate requires greater strength than what I am used to to hit the same spot as my other rackets. It takes some time to get used to this racket but can tell that it is a good performing racket when extra effort is taken in the swing

Very good racquet
5/5
I bought two of these racquets for my 13 year old son. He mostly plays against older, bigger, stronger players, so he needed something that would give him power. This racquet definitely gives him that. Its very light weight, so its easy on the arm muscles. Oversized head gives a larger sweet spot. Allows for a lot of power shots. He has been using it for about a month and is extremely happy with it! I would recommend this racquet for anyone youth or adult, man or woman looking for a lighter weight, yet powerful racquet.

I played 5 minutes and racquet strings broke. I had to get it restrung and pay extra $$$ ..So i was disappointed, the money i saved i had to restring. I needed the racquet for a game there was no time to return.. I dealt with it best i could. That is why performance is poor and c /s low...

I use the Head TiS6 and have never had arm or shoulder issues which was not the case with heavier racquets. I play three to four times a week and also play USTA aged appropriate competitions, leagues and drill once a week. The lighter weight racquets suit my tennis schedule and style as well as give me the touch for drop shots and slice.

Ti.S6 Head Racquet

I just love this racquet. I broke my arm during the summer and needed a lighter racquet. This is just perfect. It gives me the lighter racquet, but does not lack in power and my game has really improved. I have found that I do not have to overhit so therefore do not have to work as hard to achieve a great shot. What can I say, I just love this racquet. BJ, Medford, NJ

Ti.S6 Head Tennis Racquet

I have enjoyed this racquet very much. It is light making it easier for me to control my shots. I have friends who have this racquet. I borrowed theirs, and that is the reason I chose this racquet.

Racket grip was larger than specified. The performance while accurate requires greater strength than what I am used to to hit the same spot as my other rackets. It takes some time to get used to this racket but can tell that it is a good performing racket when extra effort is taken in the swing

Very good racquet

I bought two of these racquets for my 13 year old son. He mostly plays against older, bigger, stronger players, so he needed something that would give him power. This racquet definitely gives him that. Its very light weight, so its easy on the arm muscles. Oversized head gives a larger sweet spot. Allows for a lot of power shots. He has been using it for about a month and is extremely happy with it! I would recommend this racquet for anyone youth or adult, man or woman looking for a lighter weight, yet powerful racquet.
