Description

Players in need of a forgiving racquet that offers comfort and maneuverability will want to hit with the Gamma RZR Bubba 117. This frame is a smaller version of Gamma’s well known Bubba line. The 117 square inch head provides a generous sweet spot with plenty of power and forgiveness. The 22-24-22mm beam width ensures the racquet has solid power while also offering stability. RZR aerodynamic technology is incorporated, giving the racquet a light, fast feel through the air. At 9.5oz (strung), the frame is light enough for any level of player to swing while still offering solid power. The slightly head heavy balance lends additional pop off the ground and lends stability on both ground strokes and volleys. With a slightly extended 27.25 inch length, players have access to extra leverage on serves and ground strokes. The 16x19 string pattern allows for a blend of spin and control on every type of stroke. The frame’s mid range stiffness provides an excellent balance between power and a comfortable feel on contact.

Tinny w/ LOTS of Vibration

Always happy with the service I receive from Tennis Express, but I was NOT at all impressed with the Gamma RZR 117. Its extremely tinny, and youll fell a LOT of vibration when you hit the ball. Further, despite the 117 square-inch head size, it didnt have a lot of power. Best bet is to demo this racquet before buying, something, sadly, I did NOT do. A definite buyer beware type of racquet.

Happy with the Racquet
5/5
Im very happy with this racquet. I wanted a lightweight racquet with a large head and thats exactly what I got. Im a relatively new player and this racquet makes me feel like I have control moreso than other racquets Ive tried so far. For my next racquet Ill use the TE demo program to pick the best one for me, but for now Im good with this.

Great Racquet
5/5
This racquet does everything you could hope for and more. Yes its big, but with the right strings, you can get amazing spin shots, serves, and still hit flat and hard and keep the ball in play. Great for volleys and net play too. If there is a drawback, it might be the weight. Its very light, but thats why they make lead tape. Easy fix.

Disappointed

I did not feel like the racquet was balanced at all. It had very little power for that size racquet head. Plays a lot different than the 137 which has a tremendous amount of power with considerable control. The 117 had neither. The racquet also was not stable if you did not hit the ball in the exact sweet spot.
