Designed for exceptional spin, Solinco Barb Wire 1.25 features the same square profile geometry as the popular Tour Bite. In order to offer even greater spin potential, the string is subjected to an axially twisting procedure, increasing the surface roughness for increased grip. The result is that Barb Wire is the most spin friendly string in the line, while offering some interesting playing characteristics. The unique co-polyester construction combines excellent durability and resilience for power. Best suited to hard-hitting baseline players looking for maximum spin and durability without sacrificing all feel and power.

Excellent Control String

I am a 4.0 level player with basically a serve and volley style. This string gives me excellent control on my volleys but lacks the power needed without a swing volley. Seems to lack pop on the volleys compared to the wilson hollow core I have been using. But what it lacks in power it gives back in control. I am going to continue using it because it is also easy on the elbow. Would strongly recommend for heavy hitters!

Love these strings. They allow me to have the full range. Power, spin, touch and I can hit flat if I want. And this string is durible. I can play about a month before the spin affect starts to diminish. I string mine at 85lbs.

I have been playing with the Solinco Barb Wire for over a year now. Super spin potential in this string. I now hybrid the Barb Wire with the Solinco Pro-Stack to soften it and give me a little more control, with no loss of topspin on ground strokes. With a change to the new Prince ESP racket 16x16 string pattern, I have had to experiment with string diameter. 17gauge was only lasting 2-3 hours. I felt like I lost a little spin with the 16 gauge, but it didnt break on me. The answer was the 16L. Great spin, and lasting 14-15 hours of hard play.
