Description

For the players seeking durability and additional spin generation without breaking the bank, Tourna Big Hitter Blue Rough 16 comes to provide excellent performance at a moderate price. Using the same poly-poly ether composition as the original Big Hitter, this string features a significant textured surface to enhance ball bite and create even greater spin. One of the few strings to utilize aluminum fibers, Big Hitter Rough possesses surprising resiliency and power from a typically stiffer string construction. This string still places its primary concerns on durability, control, and additionally spin allowing players to swing freely from the baseline without fear. The German engineered string placed highly in tension maintenance and resistance to string movement. Due to the stiffness and good tension maintenance, it is recommended to string this one 5-10% lower than normal. So if you are a baseline player searching for a durable string to create tons of spin to place your powerful groundstrokes, give this one a try.

Composition: Extruded Poly-Poly ether monofilament

Color: Blue

Gauge: 1.30 mm (16g)

Length: 660 ft (200 m)

Best Co-Poly ever
5/5
This string is quite amazing. If anyone has reservations about using co-poly strings because of the old fashioned polys that were stiff and extremely not arm friendly, then they should try Big Hitter Rough Blue!! I string racquets for friends and just stringing a racquet with this stuff it becomes obvious that it is more flexible than anything lese on the market. I wondered if that would reduce its effectiveness once it came to actually playng with it, but not a bit of it!! It out-performs anything Ive ever played with in spin, control, comfort and tension maintenance!! I would almost go as far as to say that this is the nearest string Ive found that has the qualities of of a poly with almost the forgiveness of a synthetic gut. In short : Insane spin, great control, almost as arm friendly as a syn gut and well priced. Figure out for yourself if you should be using it!!!

Softer than PHT
4/5
Compared with Pro-Hurricane Tour: - No shifting - Less powerful - Less durable broke ~6 hours vs 8-10 on PHT - Softer better for arm - Good top spin and kick serve Good for those wanting a softer string than PHT but do not mind the less durability.

Strings are Solid and Strong
5/5
My son plays about 20 hours a week and loves his new strings. They are more touch, stronger and have a better overall performance. We couldnt be happier and Tennis Express is the best!

This string has great playability. The BHR offers great spin and a good bite on the ball. The feel isnt the softest but it does not hurt the arm. The only disappointment is the longevity of the string. Ive been stringing frames for 13 years and these break the most out of all the polys Ive played with. It is the 16 gauge and it usually only last 3-4 hours of hitting max. At first I thought I was doing something wrong but Ive had it strung by different people differen machines all over the place. I can compare these to luxilon and babolat polys which last only a bit longer but at that point the strings feel dead and have a trampoline like effect and still snap. Overall not bad for the price.
