Volkl’s V1 series has been a cult favorite for a decade now, and the Volkl V1 Classic hasn't loat any of it's charisma in that time. Volkl has kept the best things about the V1: its 102 square inch head size, 25/22/28mm beam taper, 10.1 ounce unstrung weight and head-light balance make it an easy-swinging, comfortable frame, and Big Grommets increase the effective head size by up to 15 square inches for added power and control, even on off-center hits. Though the Volkl V1 has "tweener" characteristics, it versatile design is effective even for advanced players. Adding to the racquet's overall comfort is the Dual Dampening Grip that lessens vibration while preserving responsiveness.

Tennis Express Reviews
Volkl classic racket
For 20 years my V1 Volkl racket, now weakened by digging out volleys and scraping its frame on the court, needed replacement. It had saved my arm, and allowed me to play tennis, so buying another was a no brainer. I was very pleased that I was able to save about $100 from buying it online vs a tennis shop, which I would have used if I wanted to demo rackets. That it was shipped free and included basic stringing free was another perk. It arrived promptly, and I am very pleased and playing the best tennis ever. Thanks, Tennis Express.
Great Racquet/Great Advice
This is the second Volkl classic I have ordered. My first purchase was based on advice from representative who recommended it for tennis elbow---and it worked. In talking to the representative for the second order I indicated I would like more power with less work. She recommended I adjust string tension --- again, that worked also. What I appreciate most about tennis express in addition to its excellent service is talking with representatives who, over a phone, are excellent at diagnosing a problem and then recommending solutions that work on the court.
Volkl VI with help from online assistant!
I recently purchased the VI Classic by Volkl. It handles beautifully and is very light. It has an excellent balance between control and power. I am not a power player, so it gives me a little extra umph while maintaining control.
The best part about this purchase however, was that I was able to enlist the online shopping assistant who guided me toward this raquet after I explained what I was looking for. She gave it a strong endorsement which helped me make a decision when there were so many raquets to choose from.
More of a good thing
I bought my first V1 Classic in 2004. The 10th anniversary edition. I have tried to replace it with the Volkl V1 Power Bridge, a little too head light, and a Prince Hornet Hybrid O3, caused some tennis elbow, but always ended up back with the V1 Classic. My new V1 Classic which I bought in October 2013 plays great. It was time to make my 2004 version a back up. The most arm friendly racquet I have ever played with. When I bought my first one in 2004 it cured my chronic tennis elbow. A good balance of medium power and touch which always feels very smooth. I have been hitting with better accuracy and a little more power. I think my 2004 model was a little tired.
I am a 60+ year old recreational and league player playing singles and doubles at the 3.5 level. The V1 also has good feel at the net.
I cant say enough about this racquet. It has the best combination of power and control of any racquet I have every played with. The pop you get on the volleys is amazing. Overall, the best racquet I have ever owned.
Great racquet for double. If you have decent hand you will look like a skill player. Single...you may get push around if your opponent has heavy ground stroke. 10.8 ounce fully strung. I have not customize this racquet yet.
Racquet Purchase Review
Cant be happier. The racquet selection was everything I had hoped for. The result of the purchase was that after just a few uses I ordered a second Volkyl V1 Classic.
