Description

A massive update to the popular SilverString, the new WeissCANNON Black5Edge 17G/1.24mm offers a number of incredible properties explaining why it receives such high praise. Building on the original chemical composition of SilverString, this string is reinforced with fluorcarbon elements and chemical additives so control the playing properties for maximum performance. Black5Edge 1.24 is extruded through a pentagonal dye and then surface treated to ensure consistent and sharp edges for easy spin generation. The surface treatment is designed to allow the strings to move across each other with minimal friction, which helps to generate additional spin and opens the stringbed for a bit of extra power as well. These surprisingly soft co-polyester strings also hold tension extremely well, ensuring maximum performance over the life of the string. Black5Edge is recommended for any player seeking a versatile, soft, durable string that offers everything: spin, control, power, and comfort.

Construction: Monofilament co-polyester
Color: Black
Gauge: 1.24mm

Spin is top notch
4/5
Very smooth comfortable poly with excellent spin. A good combination of control, power, with spin as its top quality. Groundies are deep solid and controllable. Most effective at tension in mid 40s. Only issue I had was with tension that low there was some loss of control on volleys. Groundies and serves were very good.

Great string!
5/5
I absolutely love this string. I have much better spin and control now. This string is just a little bit stiffer than the polyfibre black venom 17 string Ive used previously, so i had it strung at 47 lbs on my Kfierce fx. It feels perfect for me and enjoying this string so far.

Black5Edge Tennis String
5/5
I noticed that this string performs excellent on the power, control, and spin on my Dunlop Aerogel 4D 500 Tour at 50lbs tension for around 14 to 15 hours of playing time. The string feels little mushy after that but it still playable. Soft poly and very durable.

Weiss Cannon Black5Edge 1.24 tennis string
5/5
The Weiss Cannon Black5Edge 1.24 tennis string is a great string! I like it a little better than the RPM Blast because it plays more consistently from fresh to breakage. Lasts as long as any other string I've used including RPM or Wilson 19Ga Kevlar. Excellent control and power. Works well in cold indoor or spring weather as well as summer heat. I string at high tension and with this string Ive dropped from 80# to 62# over the course of the last two years without introducing a control problem. Love it!

Top 2 Best String for me
4/5
im on the fence with this string as im a very big fan of rpm blast, but for the price b5e is tough to beat. ive strung this a bunch of times and for a poly its really nice with not a ton of coil memory. in a full bed, i love the control as you can really hit out on your shots especially with my one handed topspin backhand, but for me the serve doesnt have enough pop and power. its actually quite comfortable for a poly and has a nice crisp feel. many think this is the best main ever, and i cant deny that so far, however, i dont like to use a multi or synthetic for the cross, i prefer another semi-powerful main. i use msv-focus hex as a cross and so far its been my go to. nice pop, feel, power, and spin with control thanks to the b5e. im playing around with tension on my 2013 apd, but for now 52 mains b5e and 54 cross msv fucus hex both at 17 gauge.

Black 5 Edge
4/5
Weiss Cannon Black 5 Edge lived up to the hype! It delivered the desired spin access as advertised and wears very well. I have it in my new APD 2013 strung with gut in the crosses and 5 Edge in the mains at 53 pounds each. Thus far I have avoided the dread elbow soreness and gotten all the spin I ever needed for my crosscourt topspin whistler!

One of the best strings Ive ever played! Spin, feel, and tension maintenance are all excellent! I definitely plan of ordering some more. It plays best as a hybrid for better ball pocketing.
