Description

For players seeking a combination of power, maneuverability, and stability, the Wilson BLX Tempest Four answers the call with an oversize, tear drop shaped head, ultra lightweight, and a head heavy balance. Designed as a smaller, more control oriented version of the typical frames featuring the Sledge Hammer technology, this one still offers plenty of power to go along with the increased control. Featuring the BLX technology, which utilizes Basalt fibers woven within the graphite matrix to dampen out unwanted vibration, results in a comfortable feel at impact. The open string pattern, oversize head, and light weight give the BLX Tempest Four easy access to spin and a nice level of power for players with compact to medium length strokes. The very head heavy balance ensures that the racquet remains stable from the baseline, offering both power and control. This racquet is best suited for players seeking easy power and solid control in a maneuverable oversize frame.

Surprised by this one

I really liked this racquet for its power and control. I felt like I could put the ball anywhere I wanted, but would have liked more power for my game.

This racket is simply the best Ive ever swung in 20 years of playing tennis. Its a perfect balance of control and power. Ive seen staggering improvements on my backhand and serve. Its extremely light and perfect for my short, compact stroke and defense based game. This is the perfect weapon for a 3.5-4.0 baseline player. The only thing I would change would be the color...hardly a dealbreaker!

Great racquet

I am a 4.0 60s doubles player. This is a great racquet. I have a slow to medium swing speed and this racquet really performs. Easy to manuver at the net and makes volleys a lot easier. Well done Wilson. Would make this racquet a five but the paint chips easily. That is the only negative after a month of play. Strung mine with Prince Premier LT. Really like this string too.

Lightweight but packs a punch!
5/5
My tennis game has had marked improvement with the use of this Wilson Tempest Four Racquet. The biggest improvements have been in my backhand, my serve and my overall reach. This racquet definitely has added power to my stroke and serve without incurring tennis elbow. It allows me to have a quicker reaction time because of its maneuverability. Even my control has been enhanced. There is not a thing that I do not like about this racquet! It is strung with Luxilon Big Banger Original 16, tension 60, which I also recommend.

A great racket

I had tracked the regular version of this racket for almost a year, waiting for the time to buy it. I tried to pounce on it in my size shortly after Christmas as the ski season whimpered to an ignominious close. I placed the order with Tennis Express and looked forward to my new racket as the weather changed from no snow to cool and a little rainy. The sun was fighting its way through and tennis could be played soon. The order began to take a little longer than usual, so I called to find out what was wrong. It turned out that I was not the only one tracking one in a 4 3/8 and I was just a little late. So, since I still wanted one, I went to the competition and then to the giant with a thousand tentacles, but I was late everywhere. So I came back and bought the lite version and I have been completely happy with it. So the moral of the story is that Tennis Express has what you need, even if it wasnt what you wanted....

Very happy with purchase

I did a lot of research prior to buying the Wilson Tempest Four BLX racquet. Wanted something with good control but also enough power for strong baseline shots. I took it out of the box and played doubles with it 2 days after it arrived from Tennis Express. This racquet is everything it claims to be and at a good price. Quick delivery too. Thanks, John K.
