Wilson continues its expansion of Spin Effect Technology by introducing it into the Pro Staff line. For players seeking a lighter frame that has traditional feel and massive spin, Wilson offers the new Pro Staff 100LS. Its 100 square inch head size provides an increased sweet spot and more forgiveness on off-center shots. Feel and precision is still highly emphasized through the Braided Graphite+Kevlar frame construction. The 22mm beam width provides for a solid blend of power and control. The racquet is easy to swing and very maneuverable with its 10.6oz (strung) weight. Further aiding maneuverability, especially at the net, is the frame’s head light balance point. The revolutionary 16x15 string pattern cranks up the spin potential by reducing the number of cross strings in the pattern. This allows the main strings to move more freely, resulting in heavy spin, power and depth. The slightly extended 27 ¼ inch length allows for a slight increase in leverage on ground strokes and serves. Amplifeel handle construction ensures maximum sensation on contact while limiting unwanted vibrations. The racquet also has a redesigned cosmetic for 2014. The Wilson Pro Staff 100LS blends the traditional feel of the Pro Staff line with the massive spin potential of Spin Effect Technology and puts it all in a package that is light and easy to use.

Very similar playability to the ProStaff 100, but with noticeably more spin. NOTE: I am burning through string with this racquet! Even durable strings like Blast.

Wilson Pro Staff 100 LS Racket

While this racket feels good, the reduction in the cross strings introduces VERY accelerated wear and tear on the mains. I use RPM Blast 16 strings and in the 4 weeks I have had this racket, I have popped the main strings 4 times. Probably a total of 4 or 5 sets between string breaks. I have varied the tension from 50 to 60 lbs and still no more than 2 outings per set of strings. I dont think I can afford this racket. Its terrible in terms of string longevity.

Customized with lead in the butt, neck, 3, 9 and 12...awesome power, stability and spin. Stringing thus far is a credit card bottomless pit, however. Every string to date has been durability Lux NXT 4gs, RPM Blast, Solinco Tour bite. Each has lasted between one set and two matches. Wilson says ignore what is listed on the racket Lux NXT 4gs and try Alu Power 127 spin. Fingers crossed! Love the stick, not sure I can afford it.

I played with this new racket for about 10 times since I get it. The string that I purchased with the racket broke after 3 games. I restrung it and so far so good. One of the issue is the string pattern of 16x15 is a bit too small and that probably creates a lot of pressure on the string. I wish it is 18x16 or something just a bit more. I like the size of the racket and it does feel easier on my arm when I hit the ball. I will try a same size racket with a bit higher string pattern next time.

I really like the spin and control this racquet gives me. I had to get a 4 3/8 handle, which is a little small, so it does give me a little bit of zing in the elbow. But overall, I do like it.
