Wilson continues its rich heritage of classic player frames by updating the racquet endorsed by Roger Federer, the Wilson Pro Staff 90. The 90 square inch head size provides the pinnacle of control and precision. The box beam, Braided Graphite+Kevlar construction ensures a classic feel with solid power and exceptional responsiveness. The 12.5oz (strung) weight gives the frame the ability to hit powerful heavy shots from all areas while also allowing for exceptional defense and stability against big hitters. The head light balance helps bring the racquet head through contact on ground strokes and serves. Serve and volley players will also benefit from the head light balance as the frame is nimble at the net despite its high overall weight. The 16x19 string pattern creates solid spin while also keeping control and precision high. Amplifeel construction in the handle ensures a high level of feedback while reducing unwanted vibrations on contact. The frame also sports an all new cosmetic for 2014. Advanced players that can handle the weight and desire the pinnacle of precision and responsiveness will want to put the Wilson Pro Staff 90 on their list.

Comparing to prior version
Hit with a demo of this racquet today from my local shop. It was strung with multi-filament and had no lead at the tip as I typically customize to. My impression was that the racquet is a bit crisper than the prior version. The ball seems to jump off the racquet a bit more. By comparison, my prior racquet felt a bit plusher, although in the long line of Pro Staffs, I wouldnt consider the prior version the plushiest Id say the one before that was.
I believe that with customization and my standard poly for addl spin/control, this racquet would be good to have in my bag for a slightly different feel than the prior version I own. In general, the play is pretty similar but it comes down to preference. If you liked the K90 and the old black Pro Staff 90 Tour, you might like this one.
like the new pro staff better than recent version. But still prefer to play with the old prostaff 85. Wish they would have a smaller head to minimize some of the power. But overall improvement from recent version.
I am enjoying playing with this racquet. The smaller head plays larger than its specification, as the sweet spot is pretty large and the more open string pattern allowed for more spin especially on serves and slice backhands.
I would recommend a hybrid stringing with this racquet with a multifilament or natural gut in the mains and a poly in the crosses.
This is a nice racquet and very powerful if the string is the powerful one instead of control one. I used 54 lb. It is very solid and can generate a lot of power. With only 90 square inches head, you can maneuver the racquet much more easily. Overall the racquet is perfect if you can handle the 12 oz and get used to the weight.
This is the only racquet my son uses!! Had to replace his older ones for Christmas and he was supper excited! Excellent service guys! Keep it up!!
I had to quit playing 4 years ago because of an injury........when I started playing again I felt good but didnt feel like I was able to put as much control back into my play as I once did. I ordered 2 Wilson Pro Staffs and almost as soon as I was hitting I felt more comfortable with placement and had more power......yes it is a it heavier than my other racquets but what it has allowed me to do since my return is fantastic.
I recently purchaced two raquets from Tennis Express. One was the Pro Staff 90 and the other was the six.one 95 16X18. Both are very nice raquets and Tennis express did and awesome, professional job with how fast and easy the whole process went.
thank you Tennis Express.
The last of the small frames
I am happy to have found one of the last RF 90s at an excellent price. Thanks so much!
Great racket for the price!
Great racket for someone who is not playing all the time. The price was fantastic as it was an older model fine with me.
The weight distribution is much better than the two rackets I had before. It is very helpful for returning low balls.
Pro Staff 90
- a little lighter feel than the Pro Staff 6.0 85 sq. in. that I am used to
- can get more spin and power easily
- overall good racquet
The ultimate racquet
The Wilson Pro Staff 90 is a heavy stick providing rewarding feel and precision on serves, volleys and ground strokes. Surprisingly, this racquet provides lot of spin and is very effective tool to elevate your game.
It is a best racquet when you want to push yourself to be a better player due to its small headsize. Once you get used to its headsize you will feel power and control. I would recommend pro staff 90 to anyone who wants to increase their skills.
Best racquets period. Love the feel of a heavier racquet. Smaller head size keeps me honest and precise. I hope Wilson brings them back
