It's all about control and spin with the Yonex VCORE Tour 97. Weighing in at 12.3 ounces strung, this frame is sure to offer plenty of weight behind the ball to dictate play with precision from anywhere on the court. Taking all of the performance benefits of the first release of VCORE frames, the addition of Micro Core in the top and sides of the frame uses an evolutionary high density, expanding urethane to increase strength for enhanced stability and power. The 3D Vector Shaft remains on the VCORE Tour 97, designed to increase rigidity in the throat area for unmatched precision while X-Fullerene reinforces the new Micro Core material. Compliment all of this with the Oval-Pressed Shaft design and the standard Yonex Isometric head, and what you have is a forgiving frame that boasts impressive control, surprising power, and the spin capability to dominate your competition.

I love this racket so much better than my old racket. My Backhand is much improved with this racket and of course I love the balance and weight of it.

I recommend this racquet if you prefer a heavier racquet but are looking for a larger head size. I played for a long time with the Wilson Prostaff 85 then the Wilson Federer 90 lots of name changes and paint jobs, but essentially the same racquet since at least 2004, if not longer. At the urging of a pro, i switched to a larger frame, Wilson Blade 93. More forgiving on off balance shots but I could not get the weight of shot when I tried to put away a ball. So about three years ago switched to the Yonex RDS 001 90 as it weighed more and i though I would test the larger sweet spot theory of Yonex. I really like the RDS 90 but I now only play once every few weeks and realized i needed a more forgiving racquet. I still wanted a heavy racquet so I picked the VCORE 97. My serve has more pop and I feel like I can still control my groundies with the larger frame but also get more forgiveness on off balance shots or when I mistime it. Overall, a good racquet for me. This VCORE Tour 97 was a little too heavy for me and very low powered. There was definitely a lot of control with this frame though. But when I was hitting the ball right at the sweet spot, if created a very solid feeling and a nice flat ball. I would recommend this racket to a more advanced player with nice long strokes.
