Serena Jameka Williams (born September 26, 1981) turned pro in 1995 and has been a dominant force in tennis ever since. She plays doubles with her sister Venus, and is coached by her father Richard and her mother Oracene Price. Williams has devoted much of her time to charity, including opening two Secondary Schools in Kenya. She has also designed her own line of clothing (Aneres) and has a line of handbags and jewelry on the Home Shopping Network. Her favorite author is Maya Angelou, and she likes Mariah Carey's music, football, and movies. She ranks first in prize money among women tennis athletes and 3rd all-time among tennis athletes. In 2015, she became the first black female athlete to have a picture of herself on the cover of "Vogue", which she did for the April 2015 issue.
