The most anticipated Grand Slam of the year is finally upon us, and we have had our fair share of surprises thus far. We’ve seen some of the top seeds flung out of the championship in the early rounds and it has us wondering: Which big name will be next?
We’ve also seen sponsor changes, and as we wrap our minds around a Federer without the Swoosh (or the other way around), let’s take a look at what some of our other favorites are sporting at the big event:
1. Rafael Nadal
Fresh from his astonishing 11th Roland Garros victory, he is set to prove his mettle on grass. He has had a disappointing run at Wimbledon over the past few years; will that change this time around?
He is wearing Nike’s Rafa Court Aeroreact Top in White with a blazing red Swoosh at the front and center. While the shorts are exclusive to the King himself, you can get your hands on this timeless Rafa Court Tennis Jacket with the Bull emblazoned in gold at the right.
2. Simona Halep:
Now that the curse has lifted, the world number one is confidently making her way through Wimbledon. She was the finalist at the Australian Open, champion at the French Open, and is playing some of her best tennis yet; we have a hunch she’ll go far in this championship. She is wearing Nike’s Court Slam Tennis Tank in White with the pleated Court Victory Skirt. She caps off her look with the Aerobill Featherlight Visor.
3. Kristina Mladenovic:
Mladenovic has had tremendous Grand Slam success in the doubles format. Can she do the same in singles?
In a first, she is sporting adidas by Stella McCartney. The fitted Stella Tennis Dress, as seen below, features fine laser-cut details and breathable mesh to elevate the solid white design.
4. Juan Martin del Potro:
del Potro has shown us that he’s capable of taking down some tennis heavyweights. Can he do it at what seems to be the Tournament of Upsets so far?
5. Karolina Pliskova:
