Pablo began playing tennis at age 6 with his parents, Gabriel and Lucila. He also has a brother named Martin who plays on the ATP tour and has trained in Barcelona since he was 15. He has a Grand Slam Men's Doubles title which he won at the 2008 French Open with partner Luis Horna. In 2013, Pablo was named the ATP Most Improved Player of the Year after recovering from a knee injury. His favorite surface is clay and his favorite shot is his backhand. In his spare time Pablo enjoys surfing, playing soccer, and barbecues with friends and family. In 2017 he received an ATP ACES For Charity grant for support of 2 foundations that work with Uruguayan children: Corazoncitos Foundation and Fundacion Tenis Uruguay. He has a fiancee, Clarita, and two daughters, Alfonsina and Antonia.
