Description

The new Tourna Quasi-Gut Armor 17G string is an excellent choice for players who need comfortable string with great feel as well as those searching for something to hybrid polyester with. The string uses a high tenacity center core with DuPont nylon center wraps. This core is then wrapped with thousands of micro fibers. The USRSA rates this construction 2nd overall for comfort in play tests, finishing only behind natural gut. The core and wraps also yield impressive touch and feel, scoring a 3rd place overall finish in USRSA testing. Polyester wraps are then incorporated into the outer layer. These wraps vastly improve durability and delay breakage from stiff poly strings digging in during hybrid use. The 17 gauge diameter offers maximum touch and feel with a potential slight reduction in durability. Tourna Quasi-Gut Armor 17G uses innovative materials and construction to provide impressive comfort, feel and solid durability. The result is an excellent string choice for comfort minded players as well as those in search of a string that can stand up to use in a hybrid with poly.

Construction: Multifilament with polyester wraps

Color: Blue Spiral

Gauge: 1.25 mm (17g)

Length: 12.2 m (40 ft)

I did a hybrid with this string and Genesis True Grit. The first two weeks were fabulous. This string combo has so much play in it. I havent even had them in 3 months and the quasi-gut string broke and is frayed in many places. Although I loved this hybrid, I prefer something that will last a bit longer. If you play a lot of tournaments and change your strings a lot then this is a great string. Also, it is very easy on the arm. Its one of the few strings that claims such, that I have found to be true.

First time using this string. A good string, but doesnt feel exceptional at 50 lbs in Volkl Organix V1 MP and Head Prestige S. Will try at different tension. 4.0 doubles player.
